This letter is going out to the employers at Auckland ports who have made a take it or leave it stance with its workers threatening to replace them with contract workers if they refuse proposals. We the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) stand in Solidarity with the Maritime Union of New Zealand (MUNZ) and stand united in our condemnation of Auckland Ports and their aggressive anti-Union attitude.
We insist on an end to Auckland Ports Union busting efforts and their attempts at causing rifts between Workers through the old divide and rule trick.
We call for all Workers be they regular or contractual to unite and fight for their rights to Workers self rule in a quest to achieve emancipation from wage slavery.
Freedom of expression and association are given rights that we will fight to defend in our aims to achieve a Workers lead society with no bosses.
Turning back the clock in an attempt to weaken job security just shows that the bosses and Workers have nothing in common and that the capitalist business class will stoop to any levels to try and keep Workers down.
