To Dalia Grybauskaite, President of the Republic of LithuaniaCC Andrius Kubilius, Prime Minister of the Republic of LithuaniaJorgen Buhl Rasmussen, President&CEO, the Carlsberg Company Rolandas Virsilas, General Manager, Carlsberg Lithuania
Dear President Grybauskaite,
We the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) are angered by the ongoing actions of Carlsberg management at the Svytury factory and insist your government act to stop these attacks on Workers and Union rights
Freedom of association and expression, including the right to use industrial action are given rights that every Worker should be able to exercise in Lithuania as elsewhere despite your bourgeois courts draconian attempts to make this illegal. This just goes to prove that the courts, the business class, the government, the state and all its apparatus work hand in hand to deny the emancipation of the Working classes by keeping us in wage slavery. The employing class and the Working class have nothing in common and we fully support all efforts by the Lithuanian Trade Union of Food Producers (LPMS) in their efforts for real democratic justice.
We as a world wide Union will be discussing a Solidarity campaign with our members in support of the members of LPMS which could include a boycott of the Carlsberg group of companies produce amongst other things.
In the mean time we look forward to hearing of some positive news on these Union rights abuses.Yours sincerely,
Andy Smith, International Solidarity Liaison Officer
