Catalonia, July 1936. General Francisco Franco’s rising fails. The revolution – the hope of the dispossessed – explodes. The workers, mainly anarcho-syndicalists, take over the running and management of between 70 and 80% of the industries and services in the country. They organize horizontally and create a social welfare system, making possible one of the most radical grass roots socio-economic transformations of the 20th Century. It’s Europe’s last revolution. The documentary started in 2012 when the makers met a witness who had participated in the collectivisation of industries, and decided to record his and other people’s experiences of the events, as well as interviewing economics and history experts. Cataluña, julio de 1936. El alzamiento del general Francisco Franco fracasa. La revolución, la esperanza de los más desfavorecidos, estalla. Los trabajadores y trabajadoras, mayoritariamente anarcosindicalistas, asumen la gestión y la dirección de entre el 70 y el 80% de las industrias y servicios del país. Se organizan horizontalmente. Crean un sistema de prestaciones sociales. Hacen posible una de las transformaciones sociales y económicas más radicales -de raíz- del siglo XX. Es la última revolución de Europa. El proyecto empieza en junio de 2012 cuando los registas encontraron un testimonio que participó en la colectivización del taller donde trabajaba y decidieron documentar su vivencia y entrevistar a expertos en la materia y a otras personas que hubieran vivido aquella experiencia.
